最近一个学习汉语的美国人发e-mail问我：如果有很多第三声的字拼在一起，怎么读？有的人说最后一个字是第三声，其他的都变成第二声（比如3-3-3-3-3变成2-2-2-2-3）。但还有人说字总是会按照意义一组一组分的（比如3-3-3-3-3变成3 2-3 2-3）。我想可能第二个解释是对的，但真的很难说因为习惯了说中文以后这样的问题会自然消失。

但我又开始想：在比较自然的言语里，很长的一列第三声字会出现吗？我自己想到了这三句：
