Mini Spring Rolls

Mini Spring Rolls

The picture on the back has it served with a mug of beer. Nice.

This product seems to be part of a larger trend of miniaturizing foods to turns them into snack foods. Another example is the “mini ramen” snack food. It comes in a bag, and each piece is a tiny version of the solid chunk of dry noodles of an uncooked bowl of instant ramen. (Anyone have a picture of that?)

Lianhua (联华) is a supermarket chain.

  1. I love spring rolls, man! I could eat dozens of them. Just fried food does harm to our health…

The Bigger Question this raises is: Will the U.S. lose its competitive edge in yet another industry? Who remembers Chun King or La Choy frozen mini egg rolls? Or their bastard sibling: Jeno’s frozen mini pizza rolls?

  3. I love those little pizza rolls. But something that advertises beer on the package here in the US would never fly.

The US is becoming more and more prudish as the years go on. Personally, I would love to see someone shove a few boxes of mini (or extra large) spring rolls up monkey boy Bush’s behind in hopes that it would lighten him up a bit.

See. It is possible to turn even spring rolls into a political argument. 🙂
