Call me a conservative if you want to but i fail to understand why so many Chinese people are beginning to celebrate Halloween. Dont get me wrong. I am saying there is anything wrong with embracing western culture and celebrating western holiday. But such action should never be done at the expense of abandoning tradtional Chinese culture. Not everything from the West is perfect and we must learn the positive aspect of Western culture (such as innovation) and ignoring the negative ones (eg. excessive spending)

  2. It’s the same reason that they’ve started putting up Christmas trees in front of the Xujiahui Taipingyang Department Store, and it’s only October: to sell more stuff. The power of commercial suggestion over the uncritical mind is amazing.
