    Now that’s my kinda gal . . .

  6. “i am the matrix.”

  7. A Google search turns up this (some nsfw ads), which says “the model’s name is Eliza Escano. She’s Filipino American. The photo was taken from a magazine called ‘Elemental Magazine.'”

There are also links to buy the shirt

  8. Importation of American selfcenterism, ‘f you know what’m talkin’ about, but idiotically spelt out.

  9. Hey I already had that in my favorites on Flikr.

  10. Ah, zhwj is still reading! Excellent…

Yeah, I should have credited the model or shirt or whatever, but I downloaded the image from some site a while back and had no idea where it came from. Thanks for getting my back.

  11. Gin,

the significance of this is that “love you long time” is a steretypical line attributed to Vietnamese prostitutes try to attract american soldiers as customers during the Vietnam war. It has since become associated with asian women in american culture, mostly among ignorant people.

  12. JR,

Now I got it. Thanks. I was ignorant.

All they need is the companion T-shirt that goes, “Me NOT sooooooo horny . . .”

I always wanted to get this other T-shirt:

    http://www.thoseshirts.com/noche.html

But since I live in an area with a lot of Hispanics, I don’t want to get my ass kicked. Sigh . . .

  14. I have the shirt with the picture of Che with the Nike swoosh on his beret, unfortunately, it’s too subtle for most people; they just think I’m one of those honkies participating in the t-shirt revolution.

    oh irony is overrated anyway.

  16. I LOVE the shirt.

  17. So only little while then? Works for me!

  18. I think that line first made its way to American pop culture in Stanley Kubrick’s “Full Metal Jacket”. In the opening scene a Vietnamese hooker was trying to lure the American soldiers with her revealing outfit and her limited English. Then 2 Live Crew really cashed it in through their song “me so horny”.

A general annoyance to many Asian girls in America, usually the harassment took place in bars. I once was walking with an Asian girl on the street and some white boys shouted “me love you long time” from their passing car. The only appropriate response then was the finger.

  19. I prefer a shirt that says

    “you are NOT staying over”

  20. i love it.

it says more than you think.
