DVD-selling Tenacity

From the SmartShanghai newsletter:

> This week’s newsletter goes out to my DVD lady, who not even one day after being told to shut shop by the filth, opened right up again and ripped me off on a shite copy of Hellboy II.

> That’s the kind of tenacity that’s going to make this the century of China.

I’ve heard about the “Olympic DVD Crackdown,” but I haven’t tried to buy any lately. With my computer in the shop, though (it was the video card fan that broke, causing the computer to overheat and shut down), I might try.

  1. Wang Xiaofeng wrote about this briefly…I won’t spoil it as it’s quite funny:

  2. China just tops the art of copying again. Check this out:

    China: impossible is nothing.

  3. I think it’s funny how we all tend to sweep dust under the rug and stuff our closets full of clutter when company comes over. The Chinese definitely aren’t the only people who do this but it’s amusing to watch since they’re the most visible at the moment.
