English Randomness from Shanghai

A t-shirt on the light rail escalator:

Arf!

A soup shop sign. The part I love (because it’s hilarious), reads, “Soup is the new coffee.”

Soup is the new coffee

Ear cleaning (yes, it’s a thing, considered more like a massage than a… dental checkup or something else unpleasant):

I’ve seen that t-shirt on a subway escalator in Beijing! It’s a Snoopy quote, but I’m not sure whether or not the merch makes that connection explicit.

    • Ha ha… I feel like it’s really a toss-up if this random English comes from some real context or if it popped into some t-shirt designer’s mind. Thanks for the link… that’s amusing.

P.S. How did you find that quote in Google Books?? Did you just Google it and that turned up?
